Certificates and Short Diplomas
Short credentials of 9 to 13 credits, offered at Gateway, Lakeshore, Moraine Park, Nicolet, and Milwaukee Area, introduce baking in one or two terms at a low cost. Several are not eligible for federal financial aid on their own, so students should check before enrolling.
Technical Diplomas
One-year technical diplomas of 24 to 30 credits cover breads, pastries, cakes, and bakery production in more depth. Chippewa Valley, Fox Valley, Madison, Milwaukee Area, and Waukesha County all offer one.
Associate Degrees

Tuition and Additional Costs
The WTCS Board sets tuition for all 16 technical colleges. For 2026–27, residents pay $157.45 per credit and nonresidents pay $236.18, and each college adds its own activity, technology, and material fees. Several colleges extend the resident rate to Minnesota residents, and Nicolet also extends it to Michigan residents.

All eight courses also count toward CVTC’s 60-credit Culinary Management associate degree, and Minnesota residents pay the Wisconsin rate.
